Hafertepe Jr. Seeking Third Straight Year with Victory at Devil’s Bowl

Inside Line Promotions – SUNNYVALE, Texas (March 16, 2015) – Sam Hafertepe Jr. has been on point at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in recent years.
Hafertepe Jr. has scored a victory at the half-mile track during three of the past four seasons, including the last two, and he has six podium finishes and nine top 10s in his last 13 360ci sprint car races at the track.
He will return to the facility this Friday and Saturday with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
“I enjoy racing at Devil’s Bowl,” he said. “It’s a technical track where the corners of the track are different from one another. It’s also a high-speed track so you have to be on top of everything.”
Hafertepe Jr. earned his first victory of the season at Devil’s Bowl Speedway last season en route to three top 10s. He also won one out of his two races there in 2013, placed eighth during his lone event in 2012 and recorded a victory with four top-two finishes in as many races during the 2011 season.
“It will be pretty hard to top our record at Devil’s Bowl in 2011, but I’m happy with our success there since,” he said. “We’ve won a couple of races and had a chance to win a couple of others so I feel very confident returning to Devil’s Bowl this weekend.”
Hafertepe Jr. had planned on competing during the ASCS Gulf South Region season-opening doubleheader in Texas last weekend, but both races were cancelled because of rain.
